Abstract | The focus on the role of intellectual capital (IC) in the success of any business is continuously increasing, and businesses are spending their resources on improving their IC. The present study investigates the effects of three components of IC, namely employee capital (EC), organizational capital (OC), and social capital (SC), on two dimensions of employee performance (EP) including task performance (TP) and contextual performance (CP) in the telecom sector of Pakistan. Data were collected from 400 employees of the telecom sector and analyzed by using Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to investigate the structural relationship among constructs. The results of structural equation modelling show that employee capital, organizational capital, and social capital play a significant role in enhancing task performance and contextual performance in the telecom sector of Pakistan. The study contributes theoretical enrichment of employee performance management and provides practical implications for IC development strategies for maximizing employee performance. |
