Abstract Child sexual abuse (CSA) is a common problem that occurs worldwide and has extensive psychological, emotional, and physiological effects. In Pakistan culture and traditions do not allow such topics like CSA to come to the forefront very effectively and thus the incidents are not reported or studied as they should be. The researchers of this work intend to find out the level of awareness, perception and action regarding CSA between the victims and non-victims of Karachi, youths living in Pakistan. The current work aims at identifying demographic antecedents of these differences in terms of age, gender, SES, and education. A cross-sectional study of 300 university students aged between 20-25 years was involved in this study and the Commonly used CSA Awareness/Perception Scale was used. It is established that victims have higher levels of awareness and better perception about CSA as compared to non-victims; however, education and awareness are missing in both the groups. Thus, the study supports the educational intervention and policy change initiatives to enhance CSA prevention, knowledge and the supportive services in Pakistan. The findings, therefore, hold a great implication for policy makers and educators to come up with unique strategies that will encompass the victims and those who have not been victims in handling of CSA.
